Born in 1933, raised on a farm with horse drawn farm equipment, pottery was unknown to me. However, 60 years later,
I was actively collecting pottery - mostly North Carolina Pottery - until the house was full.
After retirement and with
a little "prodding", it seemed perhaps I should learn to make it myself. Following several weeks of
schooling, I struck out on my own and pretty much taught myself by trial and error.
My wife also has taken a good interest
and manifested excellent talent in decorating with underglazes and other methods.
I am pleased with the reception our
pottery receives, having won many ribbons at the North Carolina State Fair.
Our pottery is truly unique with lots of
eye appeal. We produce mostly art pottery with a large variety in size in items.
